The easiest way to tell you what "I.W.O.TO." is all about is to quote what we wrote in our first issue back on 23rd April 2004.
Welcome to the first edition of a new Cork City Fanzine "I.W.O.T.O." which is short for "I was out there once". If you are a long time City supporter I am sure you will have heard this phrase many times over the years. It usually goes something like this: You're talking about City or wearing City's colours (usually in a pub but not always) and someone pipes up with "Cork City ?" Errah I was out there once and they were shit / desperate / terrible (Fill in your own favourite here). Anyway forget about the begrudgers. They'll always be with us !.
The idea for "I.W.O.T.O." came about at the end of last season when a few of us decided that there was room for another City fanzine. This isn't a reflection on the long established and excellent 451. We just felt that a club as big as City should have another fanzine. Because we don't see "I.W.O.T.O." as being in competition with 451 but as another voice for City supporters "I.W.O.T.O." will be published between issues of 451. The first edition as you can see has only 4 pages but we hope with you contributions that we can build future issues up to 16 / 20 pages.
